Dr Sahakian graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Yerevan State University in Armenia. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS), College of Pharmacy. Afterwards, she joined a residency program with Swedish Hospital, Part of NorthShore in Chicago while being an adjunct faculty member at RFUMS. Upon completion of the residency, she worked in different roles, such as outpatient clinical pharmacist, community pharmacist, as well as MTM clinical pharmacist while obtaining a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist certification. She has research experience both during and after pharmacy school with 15 publications in national and international journals, as well as multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international meetings.
She speaks 4 languages, likes to travel, play the violin and piano, and ride horses.
