Dr Kathryn Lamas’ passion for medical affairs stems from her extensive background in competitive public speaking and debate. Although the two may seem quite different on the surface, they both share the primary goal of transforming a complex topic into an accurate and understandable way. Kathryn joined the ECIR fellowship program after graduating from the University of Toledo, where she obtained her PharmD and MBA degrees. Throughout pharmacy school, she gained a wide variety of experiences through internships in retail, hospital, and industry pharmacy. Kathryn completed a 1-year internship here at ECIR Medical Communications, where she was able to work on treatment landscape assessments, medical strategy, congress and advisory board planning, and branded/non-branded medical content development. She also completed externships in project management at Eli Lilly and global safety and surveillance at Proctor and Gamble. Kathryn is looking forward to continuing her journey in pharmaceutical industry and making strides within the medical affairs and scientific communications space.
